Dance day 4
Braintree - Long Melford
Our first day back on the road in a while.....
A brief photoshoot with the local rag and we are ready to move our merry way again!
A mile or so out of Braintree, a car turns into a car wash and my intuition tells me it is something for us....And what better! Friends and local Morris men Steve and Steve! They accompany us for the day and take our bags onto our first hotel. We arrive late at the hotel and it has an eerie feel to it... My ankle is very swollen and I'm finding it painful to walk.
We eat some food and turn in for the night.

After a silent nights sleep (I snore) thanks to some nasal strips provided by our hosts, we hit the road again. The paparazzi hounded us for some photos in Braintree town centre to withch we were happy to comply. After the photoshoot we began. Susanne joined us for a mile to the edge of town and we parted ways. About 2 miles later we were pleasantly surprised by Steve + Steve. This gave us a massive boost, physically and mentally. One Steve played us some banging Morris tunes on his squeeze box and the other Steve let us put our bags in his car and joined us to dance where he could. This was a godesnd as my nuts were killing me! I had to ride off ahead as the amount of time spent in the saddle is really hurting.
I had a lot of fun in Sudbury waiting for the boys, ferrozing the locals as I was fully painted up!
The accomodation for the night was awesome and as I had a bed to myself and once again didn't snore.

Today I stuck 2 red roses to my hat.
Back on the road today. Suse walks us to the edge of Braintree and even dancing with me a while. A long day ahead with packs on our backs but half a mile up the road we meet our saviours for the day. Support from Brackley men! Steve Davis and Steve Fernghoe have arrived to dance and play with us for while, a pleasant surprise and great relief to have our bags taken ahead to the hotel.
We part company in the afternoon and they wish us well. Heavy going into Melford but delighted to be staying in the luxury of The Bull hotel in Long Melford.
An early night is needed.
